My current research examines the politics of labor market reform in the context of the Eurozone crisis in order to assess whether or not the Eurozone crisis has accelerated the decentralization and neo-liberalization of collective bargaining regimes in Portugal, Ireland, Italy, Greece, Spain. I am also interested in researching the rise of anti-austerity movements and radical democratic challenges to the embedded neo-liberalism of the European Union, with emphasis on the countries of Southern Europe:  Syriza in Greece, the 5 Star Movement in Italy, Podemos in Spain and Livre in Portugal.
